Narrative
WAYNE CO., KY – An 18-year-old man died, and one other person sustained injuries last month in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in west-central Wayne County.
The collision occurred around 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, at the intersection of KY-90 and KY-1546. This is southwest of Monticello in the Slat area.
Police say that an 18-wheeler and a car collided when the driver of the car turned onto KY-90 without yielding the right of way.
The impact of the collision threw a passenger from the car; he died at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as Elijah Bolen.
Medics airlifted the driver of the car, who was also ejected to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver did not require hospitalization.
